This past fortnight has been huge for the slave house. With the slave house having been bought, we have a new head slaver, Master Khon. There is new livery for each house slave and of course, new collars.
Well, I say new collars, but some of us will remember the HoK collars that once adorned our necks.
I watched closely as the head slaver, assisted by two other slavers, changed each girl's collar. First the new one was placed on their necks, then the old one was removed. Not for a fraction of an Ihn was any slave without metal encircling their throat.
The livery, well tunics is a much better description, comes in four colours, red, green, blue and yellow and proudly displays the House of Khon tag on the front. The usual rules apply, naked at all times within the slave house, livery to be worn outside, UNLESS, you are under punishment!

The Merrie Inn
The thunderous crashing of hammer to stone rings through the small port of Haifa. The Merrie Inn is roaring to life in just a few short days thanks go the Builder's tireless efforts. Work gangs of free men lounge about as the vivacious Lady Merriel bustles about choosing tiles, fabrics, and instructing the cooks.
I stopped in just to see how the Lady Merriel was throwing things together and ended up walking away with this juicy bit for my records.
Curious, I ventured to see how exactly this woman would be running an inn, afterall, she looks so young in the eyes.
"I obviously come from parents of the merchant caste on the Isle of Thera. I have grown up watching and helping my father barter, sell land, slaves and produce, so I am not new to the business of merchants. I have been traveling with Khon of Haifa, as we made our way to the Port city of Haifa. We stayed in many Inn's along the way. When I arrived here and noted that this former tavern is in the perfect location for one, I started dreaming about owning it and converting it into a grand Inn for this city. It is my good fortune that Aiden the former owner was willing to sell her to me. So although I have not yet run an Inn, I am excited and ready for the challenge it presents."
Interesting, she's never run an inn before! This will surely be amusing to see. When asked about her vision for Merrie Inn, she had this to say....
"Port Haifa prides itself on welcoming those who are seeking Gorean knowledge. It is my hope that the Inn will be a place where that can start. Here there will be three rooms to begin with, where travelers may put down their knapsacks, be given a good meal, perhaps a good tour by our very pleasing slaves and be made to feel welcome. This building will also be a wonderful place for events, it can either be used for our usual Friday night gatherings or as a place to fetch food and drink for those who would prefer the warmth of House of Khon slaves nearer to the campfire. There is also the possibility of banquets, either for companionships or Port Haifa Graduations. There are really so many options opening up with the addition of this Inn."
The House of Khon, oh yes, that reminds me! She arrived with Khon at the Council meeting. Knowing Khon, she must be an extremely interesting woman to not yet be in collar. I've seen the looks cast between them. Perhaps it's a business venture, let's find out if she plans on working with the House of Khon.
"I have given that much thought. As a new resident of the city, I would like to see it prosper as much as I would enjoy putting silver into my own till, therefore I am going to give renting slaves from the kennels a try. There are several benefits to doing this. First, I may get a good sized discount if part of the bargain is that I will train the rented slaves while they are here. Second, I can see how pleasing these slaves are and perhaps in the future purchase them from the kennels. And third, let's face it even fully trained slaves can get bored after all of their kennel chores are done and they are also welcome to come help train the newer kajirae as long as they are back to the kennel before the slavers send out the sleen!"
So she does plan on working with the House of Khon but what about private slaves? I wonder if she'll strike a deal where I can put my own slave to work in her establishment. I'd never turn down the extra coin.
"certainly! It is not only the House of Khon, that I wish to see prosper. I would be happy to strike bargains with the owners of well trained kajirae. There is so much to be done here and though I do not mind getting my hands dirty, I cannot do it alone."
Seems a rather solid goal for someone whom hasn't done this before. Perhaps there is hope for good food yet. Her sweet demeanor will hopefully transition into her meals. Though the inn is open now, I had to know what exactly was her best dish.
"I am rather biased, but I think my ram-berry tarts are to die for! The baking here is beyond great, it may even out do the baker at the market. He doesn't read, does he?" she asks looking over her shoulder as if Pat the baker might be lurking in the shadows.
I won't lie, I was hoping she'd say something of more Thassa acquired foods but I won't turn down a sweet! I'll make note here that I do intend to return soon for this ram-berry tart and will give further findings as it's 'to die for' quality.
Now that I have her a little more relaxed now though, let's get into the gossip. The grumblings of the men of the port had reached my ears with the news that the paga tavern was being torn down and relocated nearly a pasang away from their current favored location. Many are eying the woman with distrust and even repressed anger. I wonder how she plans to keep these men coming to her inn and appeased....
"This establishment is open to everyone, but it is a very public place. Just as you would not have dancing in the library, you would not have it here as it is not the proper place for that type of social entertainment. For the time being, the men are welcome to have the slaves perform for them on the stumps near the campfire and also have paga there. There is also the option of the Paga tavern on the wall, "The Stiff Kurt." she says a bit distastefully. "I am certain that the owner of said establishment will be pleased with this free advertisement. There are also talks about a ground level establishment being built, though I do not know the details about that yet. When I do get that bit of gossip, I'd be happy to pass the information along to you."
Thus far I'm pleased to report that all seems solidly at work within the Merrie's Inn. I'll continue to keep a watch on its growth and especially her food. Hopefully next time you're in that section of the city you'll stop in and see what the Lady has cooking in her pot, one never knows.

Haifa Dancers - RFL Expo and Judges Panel
As usual, Port Haifa was well represented in the Gorean dance community. This weekend held a special event to raise money for Relay for Life. Organized by some esteemed Haifa Alumn - Master Nevar and his exquisite Maia, a set of dancers performed some of their finest work to raise coin for good cause. They were followed by a group dance of Free and Slave alike, which in turn was followed by a Judges panel. Port Haifa's own Koardan had the honor to sit upon this panel where all could as questions about the art of dance from a judges perspective.
Zarlit circles, humming to her ear, “I once had a dream of crystal streams and lavender skies. There drifts languid moons, as I gaze upon them, my head soon begins to swoon.”

Snow's Dance
I will share and excerpt from her dance.
Zarlit circles, humming to her ear, “I once had a dream of crystal streams and lavender skies. There drifts languid moons, as I gaze upon them, my head soon begins to swoon.”

Venicus Sells the House
Master Venicus, a merchant of Port Haifa with many ventures, has sold the slave house to Master Khon. Khon, who had previously been the Head Slaver and owned the house has returned to the shores of Port Haifa. Venicus retains his signature markets, including the perfume specialties. But with the loss of Crixus, who had previously bought the house from Khon, it was found to be taxing to manage such unruly beasts in addition to more profitable wares. We remain in his debt for all the work he has done, and continues to do, especially at the deft hand of his free companion - Lady Auriel, who is also a slaver. They are both responsible for much of the training of our fine Kajira, hand have carried a heavy load in Crixus's absence.
Khon, a deeply experienced slaver with deep knowledge of culture, customs, and merchant law will bring his iron discipline to benefit academy's training in 'By the Book' fashion. You will see new labels on the collars of the house kajirae -... now bearing the inscription "Khon".

New Dancers Compete
Over 60 Goreans gathered at Port Haifa's dance pavilion in the 9th month of the year 10164 CA (November 23rd, 2013) to see the skills of 8 new dancers - all competing for the first time. They girls all followed the theme of Gorean dance.
The event was judged by Khon, head slaver of Port Haifa, and two other slavers of the House of Khon - Koardan and Marl - all slavers of Port Haifa. The local perfume merchant, Venicus led the proceedings which had been organized by the kajirae Maia and Phaedra, and sung by Pudding (DJ).

Follow my tarn then, as we land at Port Haifa's dance pavilion. After weeks of hard work lead by Maia, the pavilion was ready for the event. You may be familiar with Maia and Phaedra who have won many competitions in their own right.
A local Merchant of perfumes, Venicus, paced the event with background on each dancer as well as the Academy at Port Haifa.

The Dancers take the sands
1 Layla
"Layla is owned by Master Tayl, Commander of the Scarlet caste here in Port Haifa. She is a graduate of the House of Khon training academy. Layla will be dancing a tether dance to music by Selena Gomez. She says, "This dance is for you my Master!"
In her tether dance, Layla chose to wear a pink swathe around her hips allowing full breasts exposed to highlight the tether draped from her neck.
Let's sample a few of her emotes. In her second post you can see the tension imposed by the tether.
Layla looks up with fire blazing in eyes, fury runs through veins as the tether holds in place. Raising slender arms, twisting hands, to free from the confining chain. Wrapping and using body to pull, hands moving to feel for the clip along the collar, spinning around seeing the eyes watching from the shadows, anger erupts from deep within. Full voluptuous breasts heave as body squirms under the strength of tether and loss of freedom.
Her 2nd to last emote shows the crescendo of her dance
Layla splits pliable legs lowering to the sands, pulling the tether over rosy skin, writhing under the cool touch of unhanded links. Drawing on inner pyre of slave belly, wipes the fear from all corners of mind. Bringing to life as body sweeps in rolling waves, what it is to be a tethered slave.After watching this dance it made me want to hammer posts in every building to better hold a heavy chain for each Kajira.
2 Tina (tied for 3rd)
"Tina is owned by the House of Khon, and she was given the name Tina by the head slaver of Haifa. She is a level three red silk studying here in Port Haifa. This dance is the first Tina has ever performed and she wishes to thank all Free and Kajirae alike for proving helpful hints along the way."
In her dance of the newly collared slave girl, Tina chose to wear a deep red camisk top with matching swathe around full hip, accented by a gold chain.

Tina coral lips curve in a fleeting smile as the lilting melody momentarily soothes taut nerves. Floating crimson fabric a stark contrast to the cream of rounded ass cheeks as they thrust high into the air. Like the flow of a cascading waterfall, the slave lowers herself down onto her knees, watching the soft sands part like rivers from the weight of her body. Slowly crawls forward with the feline grace of a larl as azure eyes lock upon the stern face of her owner. Pausing for a few Ihn, pert breasts thrust forward as skyward palms curl inwards as if trying to lure his gaze to tempting flesh.
And her later emotes continue:
“Tina shimmering fragments of golden crystals fly through the air as belled ankles flex and feet lift before striking down against the sands. Sensitive skin quivers in torment from the frequent brush of silk, each display of lush curves growing more overt betraying the rising tide of desire within.”
3 Thistle (First Place)
"Thistle, a slave owned and trained by the House of Khon, dances today for not only the pleasure of men but in the hopes to please the Master that became to mean so much to her. She has studied hard at Port Haifa Training Academy where she hopes to be allowed to continue to assist in the training of the kajirae."
- This devoted but timid kajira shows a different side today as she dances a sa-eela dance to the sad tunes of the flute
First, Thistle set the scene with this introduction:
~Please picture a girl, chained near the dance pit. The cold steel parting her from desires, hopes and passions.
~Many lonely nights have passed, waiting for her chance to dance. Her soft blue eyes vacant of expression flit over the row of girls, hands clutched around the cold steel.
~The sound of voices and laughter of the Free ring through the air. She is forced to watch as other slaves are chosen, yet she remains overlooked. Restless she shifts on her heels. Hoping today will be the day…….
Thistle 's eyes come to life, sparkle with a fire coming from deep within. Holding a tef of the warm grains of sand, letting it seep through stretched fingers. Soft tender lips pucker up, back arches, displaying a slaves body in sensual seduction. Crawling backwards on all fours, crossed wrists held out to the Masters as a silent beg. "Please find Thistle pleasing" words no more then a murmur.
Thistle looks up with baited breath when he reaches down to her with a grin, gripping blond hair and pulling her to his chest, raping a kiss from hot lips. Lust filled body melts against him, slave heart ignites with excitement. Her dance had finally come, this once was enough, this master would take her. As fast as her oblivious joy consumed her, sudden panic fills her as she catches a glimpse of the chains, whips her gaze to his cold eyes, body silently quivers, dismay floods through chilled veins. Desperate moan flows over kissed lips as he carries her towards the poles.
4 Raven (2nd Place)
"Raven is owned by Master Forth, gem merchant of Port Haifa, and she is currently in training at the House of Khon."
Venicus introduces the dancer: "Our fourth dancer is Raven. Raven is owned by Master Forth, gem merchant of Port Haifa, and she is currently in training at the House of Khon."
Venicus continues. "Her owner had these words to say about her: "My Raven has blossomed as a dancer since beginning lessons, and she has shown that her sensuous personality and exquisite power of attention to detail are superbly well-suited to the discipline of dance. Although Raven is commonly a quiet, even shy, girl, when she expresses herself in dance her true personality emerges to wondrous effect'."
Raven will be performing a Need Dance to Insommia by Al Marconi
"A dancer kneels quietly in a dimly-lit tavern when her expressive face instinctively rises as the master she adores enters the room. Immediately sparkles of happiness brighten her eyes. She has waited for him all day, eager to serve, but to her dismay another girl reaches his side first. A small foot stomps down angrily just as the command booms 'RAVEN DANCE!'"
5 Laci
Laci is owned by Master Nick Washborne, previously a resident here in Port Haifa but now residing in the City of Vigo.
Laci has attend training schools in Haifa and Ko-ro-ba, she is currently enrolled in the City of Vigo dance school where she hopes to graduate in the next few weeks. She says, "When it came time to dance, this was something she looked at with fear and although she loves to dance for her master, this is her first written dance and she hopes to make her owner proud". She would also like to Master Khon for allowing her to return and perform as such as special event.
- Laci will be performing a Need Dance to Sovereign by Kevin Macleod.
Laci: "This girl works in a dimly lit tavern, the Free are sitting around in quiet conversations. Slaves are running back and forth serving. The aroma of black wine and paga floats in the air. Having watched each of the tavern dance girls perform before her, it is now her turn to dance. Ordered by her master to please others while he is away, knowing if so, she would be rewarded, she silently steps into the dance pit. Looking around nervously seeing other masters before her, standing quietly, arms down at her side, slowly starting her dance."
Laci takes a few measured steps forward toward what appears to be a friendly face, as supple form sways softly to the sorrowful tones of the Kalika, that float in the air. Bites down on lower lip as tiny hands clasp with frustration at the burning fire she feels inside.
Laci softly setting down to the warm sand, feeling it between her toes, and on moistened body, as she rolls around the sand, begging and hoping the Masters will accept her plea. Grinding, rolling, and changing position, reaching out, like branches in the wind, bending backwards, lying down, twisting with passion. Hearing the conversations stop, raising her chin, as she feels all eyes are upon her for the first time, Waiting for an answer that might not come.
6 Tissia
Venicus: "Tissia is the private slave or Master Storm, Captain of Port Haifa. She is a graduate of the Port Haifa Training Academy, and is En'Sa-fora of the House of Khon. She continues to enjoy teaching there and helping in the training of slaves. Today she dances for the pleasure of men, and especially for her master."
- Tissia will be dancing to Fantasy Realm by Derek & Brandon Fletchter.
Tissia paces to the dance pit, eyes downcast and stubborn set to chin. Whimsical bells dangling from slender ankle are the only sound in the suddenly quiet area, their cheerful jangle a counterpoint to her demeanor. Stepping down to the sands, emerald jewels glance back at him with last entreaty. Receiving nothing hopeful, she turns and closes her eyes. Taking in a deep breath the dancer signals to the musicians with a defeated nod.
Tissia's raven tresses flourish in a gust of chilly wind and gaze follows the path of a stray leaf as it frolics upon the breeze and gambols towards her. Petite hands interlace as if mirroring its flutter and torso oscillates to emulate the rise and fall of brightly coloured companion upon fickle winds. Tinkling laugh bursts from full lips to join the notes of the musicians as she twists and weaves, pursuing the lead of her arboreal partner.
Tissia falls to knees before him, body seeming to bend to his will as it arches like the bow he carries; another of his possessions to be molded and tuned to his preference. Tears sparkle like diamonds upon creamy cheeks as the deep forest of her eyes disappear, sooty lashes shuttering tightly. Low moan spills to his feet as she seems to lose herself in a mist of need and despair. Pushing upward, helpless to contain burst of motion, she twists in sinuous circle, as if chasing something just out of reach.
7 Jorah (tied for 3rd)
Venicus: "Jorah is owned by myself, Master Venicus, Perfumer of Port Haifa, and she was honored recently to be made Third Girl of the House of Khon. She says "My dance is a submissive story of a girl, very new to Gor and how she became inspired to learn to dance and acceptance of her new live as a Gorean slave. This followed a dance class I attended at the Port Haifa Dance Pavilion, the setting for my dance today. The class was given by Phaedra, just two days into my Gorean life, though my story is set in my first week here in Gor. A barbarian girl, wakening to her life in Gor through her dance. If I may thank Phaedra for inspiring me. Master Ray for his permission in allowing Thais to do her magic with my music... thank you Thais and Maia, for her continued encouragement to all of us that are new to Gorean dance.- Jorah will be dancing to Watermark by Enya.
Jorah kneels at the edge of the dance pavilion, expression softened as if paused in a moments thought, "she was a beautiful dancer" she whispers seemingly recalling a kajira she had seen there just days before. Gazing around the area, not a soul to be seen. Soft blue eyes widen in awe as a glisten of sun light shines down to sprinkle across the sandy grains, where the dancer had set her heart alight with thoughts of one day dancing to please. Flora's flutter and fauna's patter wafts in sweet song around her, as the warmth of the morning Lar-Torvis beats over her near naked skin.
Jorah feels a stirring build deep inside, a sensual knot in her tummy beneath a flush of warming skin. A natural longing to serve and please heightened by arousing movement in her dance. Graceful limbs dip and stretch, carrying her body through sensual motions. Her untouched body cautiously moves with increasing desire. The new Gorean slave girl has awakened with need, acceptance of her slavery. "I can dance, I am slave, I can dance" calls out with breathy joy.
8 Nishtah
Nishtah is owned by Master Enigma, entertainer of Port Haifa. Nishtah says "I do not think of myself as a dancer, nor do i feel myself worthy or adequate to to compete with anyone in the realm of dance. But it pleases my Master to see me dance, so I dance, now for his pleasure and for the pleasure of men.
- Nishtah will be dancing a Placatory dance called I'm NOT a DANCER to Endless Love.
nishtah stumbles into the pit, kicking at the sand, her cheeks stained with the chalky white residue from her salty tears. She falls to her knees, shaking and shuddering, not knowing if from anger or sheer disappointment in herself. Tiny hands grip tefs of sand, clutching it tightly in her palms. Lifting her hands, only to pound them back down again in frustration. She hurls the fine granules back into the sea of sand and cries out through a flood of tears, "I'm NOT a DANCER!"
nishtah's toned and limber form gradually transforms as she lets the dance speak to her. Softening, humbling and renewed. Gracefully, elegantly she dances, each movement more alive than the next. Sapphire eyes close, letting everything else fade away, there is nothing else but the dance. The dance she performs for her Master. As though a weight has been lifted, shapely curves billow and sway, as the branches of a willow in a summer breeze. Slowly and sensuously, exquisite form bends and contorts. Cerulean eyes open in a flash, as slave comes to realization. "I could be pleasing. I can be pleasing. Maybe I AM pleasing. Maybe... I could be a dancer."
The dancers conclude, and Venicus announces the winners.
Applause ensues for all the dancers and staff. Slowly, the sands fall silent as the Free and slave seek the path back to their homes.

= The Zar Matches have begun! The first Haifa Resident Zar Tournament has completed its first round with some surprise wins. There has been some awesome play from free and slave alike. The board by the Zar pavilion will show you play so far. Keep an eye on the bottom brackets where play will be fast, who will make it to the final to play the upper bracket winner!

Rumors of lice, of plague spreading, these may turn out to be false because the Physicians keep examining the House slaves and they all seem to be clean. Of course, they are being dipped anyway. Safety first! But was it slanderous lies that started it?!

An unidentified source claims Northerners have been spotted raiding nearby Cities. Perhaps we should all be wary.
= Can adoration of the Free go too far? Rumor has it that a certain slave is keeping cast offs of a certain Free in their kennel, though it may just be kennel-talk!
= Slaves last seen carrying barely lit torches and heading towards a dark ally. Screams have been heard from the same direction. What is going on?

║RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT ═╝
= This week The Herald interviewed Phaedra, restricted Red Silk, and personal slave of Ray Toxx, tavern keeper of Haifa. She has traveled as far as Hochburg and Onli and comes to Haifa by way of a Slaver. What she likes best about Haifa is that it is her home that has captured as piece of her heart, and also where she met her current Master. She considers her greatest strength to be her loyalty and her attempts to always make people laugh. She considers her special skills to be dancing and Zar, and has recently won numerous awards for either from various contests! She considers her biggest influences to have been Phoebe and Tissia but feels everyone plays a part from past Masters to her current Owner. Her pet peeves are dirty toes, being told she can't count, or when she is told she is skinny as it takes time to keep her figure! She tells us her favourite thing about being a slave is pleasing her Master, being her happiest when he is happy, and that she is simply, "I'm a tasta loving, bouncy, happy slave that misses swinging her switch around. Though I'm sure the girls don't miss it so much." Thank you Phaedra!

The board by the Zar pavilion will show you play so far. Keep an eye on the bottom brackets where play will be fast, who will make it to the final to play the upper bracket winner!

═ Krom Kukulcan, Warrior of Port Haifa, has completed his time as a recruit and done all that was required of him in fine fashion. He is now a full member of the Scarlet and a full Guardian of Port Haifa.
═ Thaïs won the title in the Gorean Campus Zar Tournament with a grueling final playing two victorious games against Master Knight. The trophy has taken its rightful place on the mantelpiece of the fireplace at the Tavern's zar corner.
═ Congratulations to Phaedra, owned by Ray, Tavern Keeper of Haifa, who took first place at Asperiche dance contest and Congratulation to Maia, owned by Black Ice, MA of Olni, who took third place!
═ Congratulations to Amina, owned by Karu, Scribe of Haifa, took third place at Ravenscar Dance Contest.

-Head Slaver Khon has re-arranged the kennel ranks: Tissia, owned by Master Storm is now En'Sa-Fora. Cara, House of Khon's own is now Se'Sa-Fora. Emily, also owned by the House of Khon, has been appointed Third Girl.
Previous ranked kajirae have been rewarded for their skills and development.
-House of Khon slaves are ordered to see the Physician before Friday for a de-lousing, especially Nameless girls through to Intermediate slaves who have never been dipped.

═ Port Haifa Dance Contest: Never-before completion being held Saturday, November 23, 2013 will feature Port Haifa slaves who have never danced in a competition before! Top three will win prizes!
═ Port Haifa is hosting their very own, very first, Residents only Zar Tournament. It will be open to all Free and slaves that reside in Port Haifa. There will be prizes for the top three and another for best placed nameless/numbered slave.
The tournament will be held starting October 13th and will be ending November 17th. Have questions? Please ask Audrey (katkat Lemur) or Thistle (Shirin Adored)
═ By the Book Book Club: Reading this week chapters 1-5 of Priest Kings of Gor. Whether you love the Gor Books already, or you have never read a book, the Haifa Book Club will encourage you not only to get reading, but provide a great opportunity to discuss what we can learn from them! Each week will start with a recap of what happened in those chapters ... so come along even if you didn't get through the reading and join us in a fun and informal discussion! An unidentified source claims Northerners have been spotted raiding nearby Cities. Perhaps we should all be wary.
═ Rumor has it that prior to last Saturday, the Haifa High Council had not picked a new high council scribe yet. Had rivalries broken out?
═ Angry Scribes seen repairing broken shelving, scrolls, and books inside the library. Rumored that slaves might have caused the ruckus somehow, but others say the Scribes themselves are seen bickering or whispering amongst each other in corners.

═ Slave Gruel Recipe: Chop the parsit fish into small bite-size pieces. Fill a large bowl with dry Sa-Tarna grain and slowly stir in fresh water evenly moistening the grains. When moist, stir in a spoonful of white salt and the pieces of raw fish, and dish into bowls for the slaves.
