There are many good classes.
Events come in several forms - informal tavern dances, exposition, and competition. They can be solo, tandem, or group formations.
There are a dozen or so 'forms' of dance that are considered 'by the book'. Needs dance, Placatory dance, Tile dance, Belt dance, etc, all have special requirements
Dance is part writing, part animation, part music, and all feeling. Part of the battle is shopping for just the right animation, or song.
Technology like special HUDs (heads up display) lets you position your avatar and time your animations. They can be especially useful in group dances.
There is a global Google calendar of dance events. There are usually several events each weekend - often at 1pm SLT.
